Head’s Welcome

Welcome to St. Aubyn’s School, a co-educational independent school for 525 children aged 3 to 11.

It truly is an honour and privilege for me to be Head of one of the oldest, most established, yet forward thinking preparatory schools in the country.

Situated in beautiful surroundings of Woodford Green and Epping Forest and easily accessible from the main thoroughfares of London, St. Aubyn’s is set in eight acres of grounds. It is self-contained and well-resourced, offering small classes and high levels of teaching.

Our focus as a school is on each and every pupil reaching their full potential – in terms of their academic ability and also in terms of their character and as a citizen of the world.

We guide our pupils on a journey through the school, where in small class sizes and with the guiding hand of our talented and hardworking teachers, they discover their passions, work on their areas of development and leave us at the end of Year 6 for the school that suits them the best.

Strong relationships are at the core of what we do: relationships among pupils and between pupils and staff, are all backed up by a partnership with parents.

Pupils’ knowledge, skills and understanding across all areas of learning are excellent…

They seamlessly draw upon previous learning and apply it successfully…

ISI Report, 2022

The school has a Christian foundation and we are inclusive of all faiths and none, and welcome families from all backgrounds.

Children respect each other’s individuality and achievements. Our motto from 1884 still reflects our approach to teaching and to learning today: Fortiter, Fideliter, Feliciter; Bravely, Faithfully, Happily.

We invite you to join us as a member of the St. Aubyn’s family. To arrange a visit to see the School in action please contact the Admissions Registrar: registrar@staubyns.com
