Welcome to St. Aubyn’s School, a co-educational independent school for around 500 children aged 3 to 11.
It truly is an honour and privilege for me to be Head of one of the oldest, most established, yet forward-thinking preparatory schools in the country.
Situated in the beautiful surroundings of Woodford Green and Epping Forest and easily accessible from the main thoroughfares of London, St. Aubyn’s is set on eight acres of grounds. It is self-contained and well-resourced, offering small classes and high levels of teaching and learning.
You can read all about our focus in our School Strategy – I would recommend you take a look, as it summarises exactly what we do so well here. As our original school motto suggests, we focus on the three core values of Bravely, Faithfully, Happily. This means that we have a balanced focus on each and every pupil striving towards their academic potential, whilst developing as well-rounded, resilient and engaging young people. You can read more here.
We guide our pupils on a journey through the school, where in small class sizes and with the guiding hand of our talented and hardworking teachers, they discover their passions, work on their areas of development and leave us at the end of Year 6 for the school that suits them the best.
Strong relationships are at the core of what we do: relationships among pupils and between pupils and staff, are all backed up by a partnership with parents. We believe firmly in the pupil voice, we have a thriving parent forum and community events planned by our excellent SASS (Parent Committee).
Pupils’ knowledge, skills and understanding across all areas of learning are excellent…
They seamlessly draw upon previous learning and apply it successfully…
