Parental Workshops

On the first Friday of every month, we hold a workshop and coffee morning with the Head of Learning Support, covering a variety of topics.

The most recent Parent Workshop took place on Friday 7th February and brought to our attention the topic of emotional regulation. The session outlined an overview of self-regulation and provided a framework for Zones of Regulation. Additional points of discussion included self-regulation tools, calming techniques, thinking strategies, and sensory supports.

Emotional regulation workshop

The previous session was held in January and focused on e-safety, an essential topic for today’s digital age. During this session, we discussed key risks and shared advice on how to keep children safe online. We also covered important topics like consent, reporting, and the computing curriculum at St. Aubyn’s. Practical strategies were also shared so that our parents can support their children at home, ensuring they navigate the online world safely and responsibly.

Previous workshops have looked at Fine Motor Skills and Handwriting. Delving into the physical development of motor skills, difficulties our children are experiencing and practical activities to support our children at home. Resources are available below.

We encourage you to attend as many sessions as are relevant to your child.

The opportunity to sign up for the March workshop will be shared in due course, the topic will be executive function.
