Dear families,
Choosing your child’s school is one of the most important decisions you will make and I understand the weight of that responsibility. I often compare choosing the right school to choosing the right home. Your child’s school will be their home away from home, and it needs to be somewhere they will be happy, they will thrive, and they will grow.
At St. Aubyn’s, we believe deeply in our motto, Bravely, Faithfully, Happily. We promise to challenge every child to be brave in their thinking and ambitious in their goals. We promise to develop citizens who act with integrity, compassion and responsibility. And we promise to create an environment where happiness is not a by-product but a foundation.
The results speak for themselves: 100% of our pupils who sat the 11+ in 2025 received an offer from one of their chosen senior schools, and our three-year average stands at 97%. What I am most proud of is how our children achieve those results – with confidence, with kindness, and with a genuine love of learning.
The happiness of and wellbeing of our pupils also speaks for itself. As I walk around the school from time to time, I am greeted by pupils who want to be here, want to learn, and want to do their very best.
St. Aubyn’s is the perfect size, too. It’s small enough for staff to know each child individually, large and ambitious enough for them to try everything that we have on offer.
The best way to understand what makes us different is to visit. Come and see our children learning, our teachers teaching, and our community in action. We will be delighted to discuss with you how our wider partnership as a member of the Bancroft’s Family of Schools feeds into the individual experience all of our pupils enjoy.
I look forward to welcoming you personally.
With warm regards,
Head of St. Aubyn’s School

Under Louis’ leadership, St. Aubyn’s continues to build on its proud 140-year heritage while looking confidently to the future. The school’s five-year strategic plan is rooted in the three pillars – Bravely, Faithfully, Happily – and is guided by a simple conviction: that academic ambition and personal wellbeing are not competing priorities but complementary ones.
Key areas of focus include investing in specialist teaching and Challenge for All programmes, deepening the school’s pastoral and wellbeing provision (including the partnership with Place2Be), expanding co-curricular opportunities, and ensuring St. Aubyn’s facilities – already among the best in the area – continue to support outstanding learning.
In 2026, the school announced the next stage of its history, becoming a part of the Bancroft’s Family of Schools. This partnership promises to ensure the continued strength of St. Aubyn’s, moving into the future of education for the next 140 years, whilst retaining the independence, ethos and spirit of the school.
At our school, we are dedicated to nurturing curious minds,

At our school, we are dedicated to nurturing curious minds, fostering academic boldness, and building inclusive communities.
Our aim is to create an environment where academic excellence and personal growth intertwine seamlessly.
Building upon our enduring motto, “Fortiter, Fideliter, Feliciter; Bravely, Faithfully, Happily,” we embrace a dynamic approach to teaching and learning that honour tradition, while also embracing innovation.
Through innovative teaching methods and a dynamic curriculum, we empower every child to reach their full potential and become lifelong learners and contributors to society.
We embrace diversity, champion inquiry, and cultivate a culture of respect, empathy, and resilience.
“Perhaps the greatest testament to the school is the joy our children feel. Both girls genuinely look forward to school every morning. Whether it’s the variety of the curriculum or the "extraordinary" things they discover, they come home bursting with excitement, eager to share every detail of their day.
We couldn’t be more grateful to be part of the St. Aubyn’s family.”
