We believe impactful education happens when children discover interests beyond the core curriculum. At St. Aubyn’s, co-curricular life is integral to developing confident, well-rounded individuals.
More than 40 weekly activities run before and after school for children from Reception to Year 6. The programme increases per year group and spans activities across sport, music, creative arts, technology, and recreation. While most activities are open to all, some specialist programmes involve selection.
At St. Aubyn’s, we ensure clubs and enrichment complement learning and personal development, with most activities included in the termly fees to make breadth of opportunity an integral part of education rather than an expensive extra. Our aim is simple: for every child to enjoy and thrive through participation.

Activities evolve termly. Current term listings are published on the school website and shared with families at the start of each term.

Co-curricular participation develops qualities that complement academic learning: resilience through competition, creativity through performance, leadership through the house system, the eco committee and the school council, and social confidence through collaboration across year groups.
Inter-house competitions run across Years 3-6 in multiple sports, building friendly rivalry and a sense of belonging. The whole-school house system, with its charity days, singing competitions and sporting events, gives every child a team to belong to and a reason to contribute.
‘We celebrate others’ success’ is one of the ten St. Aubyn’s promises, and we regularly celebrate achievements – from small steps to significant accomplishments – in assemblies, newsletters and with house points.
At St. Aubyn’s, our approach is centred on inclusion for our community. Every child, from Reception, has an opportunity to be a part of co-curricular activities, supported by termly activity-rotation that ensures access to the full breadth of provision.
Parents also benefit from most activities being included in termly school fees, with only those provided by external providers incurring an additional cost.
Wraparound care is available from 7:30am before school and until 6pm after school, including a supervised homework session for Prep pupils. Before school care starts from 07:30 for Nursery – Year 2 and starts at £6.50 per session; after-school care costs are from £13 per session.

There are so many activities that I enjoy from Languages club and watching movies in French, learning ballet and building towards being able to do point work to performing as a part of the school choir and Glee Club. One of my favourite activities is during the netball club when we play skills games like Gladiator, which then help us when we play competitively against local schools.”
