Pastoral care here is proactive, personal and embedded into the fabric of the school. Every child is known as an individual, and our systems are designed to identify and respond to needs early.

Strong relationships between pupils and staff sit at the heart of pastoral life. Class teachers and the pastoral team work together so that each child’s personal profile is understood. St. Aubyn’s partners with Place2Be to provide on-site professional mental health support for pupils who need it. Alongside this, one-to-one counselling and a self-referral scheme and anxiety workshops are delivered by the mental health practitioner for both pupils and parents. Other programmes and initiatives are embedded into the pastoral calendar.
Our wellbeing garden (The Harmony Hub), sustainability garden and outdoor learning areas provide dedicated spaces for reflection and connection with nature. An active physical curriculum and competitive sports build resilience alongside academic focus. Importantly, our pastoral approach prepares pupils to meet pressure confidently – equipping them with self-regulation, a growth mindset, and intrinsically motivated to thrive.
